Experience
With experience as a teacher, I am able to help tutor students by using methods that I have found to be effective in the classroom. I use repetition a great deal as a part of my teaching process to ensure that the information is being retained and properly applied. I also use the Socratic method in my teaching, which means that I work to develop what the student already knows and to use that knowledge to help expand their skills in other areas. I currently am working as a substitute teacher and work with students of all ages. I have previously taught Math in a private school setting at the junior high and high school level. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rutgers University and a teaching certificate in Mathematics from Rowen University. I am comfortable tutoring students in Algebra, Business Math, Geometry, and Trigonometry, as well as general math for elementary and middle school students. On a personal note, I am invested in my own health and fitness and enjoy going to the gym. I also make a point to stay up on current events and I like photography, music, and time with family and friends.
